Some highlights from the exhibitions include this RE-IMAGINING COLLECTIVE TASK AT PRINT STUDIO. Led by Robert Fitterman, visitors are invited to respond to selected tasks set by the original collective and are encouraged to explore the recycling of ideas and respond through the medium of print.

Another event called ALTERED BOOK WORKSHOP, led by Katerina Lanfranco, invites participants to explore the formal constraints and surprising elements of the book format, and how used books can be creatively re-purposed to make art. Visitors will use found materials, mixed-media collage, drawing and transfer techniques to redesign the space, form, purpose and meaning of an old book.

Lastly, another drop-in program this series offers is a collaboration with the REANIMATION LIBRARY – a small independent library based in Gowanus Brooklyn that archives outdated, discarded, and no-longer circulated books that have been given new life as a resource for artists, writers and other creators. The library will temporarily be located at MoMA’s PRINT STUDIO so visitors can use scanners, computers, and photocopiers to work with and manipulate material found within the salvaged books.

I’m hoping to get to the MoMA this Sunday to check out all of these offerings that explore the role of print in contemporary visual culture.

I LOVE this new project that’s been making the rounds on design blogs this month. ‘The Glow‘ is a glimpse into the world of inspiring design moms – their creative process and balancing act with work and home life. The photographs, taken by Kelly Stuart are remarkable and make me smile each time I take a peek. The series was edited by Violet Gaynor.

Happy 2012! It’s been a great year so far – lots of fun projects in the works. Today, on THEVORACITY.COM a new story launches that was shot at our place upstate. Chris was the food stylist and I was asked to work on the post production design.

The Voracity is a personal project by photographer Anna Williams exploring hunger, consumption and beauty. This shoot titled ‘7 Steps‘ explored the mystery and the beauty of the Catskills and all the amazing gifts it has to offer. After shooting three long days in the rain this past October, the shots could not have turned out more beautiful. Congrats to everyone who worked on the project for producing such stunning work!

Chris Churchill’s show which opened last Friday night at 212 Gallery, features a series of work called Paintings By Night. I particularly like this one above titled ‘Volcanos and a jar of perfume.’

What a great turnout last night to Like The Spice Gallery’s Monthly Artist Dinner. It was nice to meet the other artists in the show and hear them talk about their work. So good to meet everyone!
